More About The Organisation
Our Lifetime Team is a unique Community Children's Nursing Palliative Care Service (nursing and psychology) that brings together a dedicated team of children’s nurses and psychologists who believe in every child’s right to a childhood and the best quality of life for all.
This service is for families where a child has a life-limiting or life-threatening condition (excluding children with cancer).
We offer a needs-led service within the community for families where a child has a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Please note that children who have cancer are usually supported by other services and do not receive input from the Lifetime Service.
The Lifetime service understands that having a child with a life-threatening illness or long-term illness places a huge amount of stress on everyone in the family. We work closely with the primary healthcare team, hospital teams and other professionals in the community to enable the child and family to live as normal a life as possible and to care for their child at home or in the place of their choice.
