More About The Organisation
The Family Placement Team recruits and supports foster carers, adopters and family link carers (respite care for disabled young people) as well as a growing number of carers who have Special Guardianship orders. We also offer advice to prospective adoptive families who wish to adopt from abroad. As part of our support to foster carers we offer respite activities for both Looked After Children and the birth children of foster carers. We provide a post adoptive service for all the people affected by adoption. This includes the provision of a counselling service to adopted adults who are searching for their birth relatives. We hold all the adoption files for people who were adopted through B&NES since 1947.

How do people access your service?
People are welcome to phone us with any preliminary questions they may have. If we are not the right people to help we will always try to put them in touch with someone who can help.
If referral then by whom? For example, Social Worker, School, Doctor, Self-referral?
Any professional or memeber of the public
From time to time our need for adoptive families is less therefore we do not pick up assessments automatically - but can direct them to other organisations who may be in a position to help.
